Markets post 4th straight weekly loss; Midcaps underperform, Nifty Bank offers support
Indian markets continued their losing streak for the fourth consecutive week, the longest in 2025 so far. Nifty 50 and Nifty 500 declined by 0.5% and 1.1% respectively, while the Nifty Midcap Select index lagged with a sharp 1.9% fall. Interestingly, Nifty Bank and Financial Services bucked the trend, gaining nearly 0.5–0.9% as financials remained resilient.
